9:11 pm - Broken.
Do you understand how broken your thought process is when someone says "People shouldn't die because they are poor" and your reaction is "Don't get the government involved because I don't want to pay for it"?

Next time try something like "It looks like it might rain" and see if you think "You better not steal my lunch"...

8:12 pm - This is Bullshit
we are exactly the type of people they want buying houses right now. We have no faults, late payments or bankruptcies.

We make almost 3 time the national household average so we don't qualify for any assistance from anyone. But the bank demands more money from us than we could possibly have. If only ONE of us were working we could get all kinds of support from everyone to a buy a twice as expensive house.

But today BoA randomly decided they want 10% down payment. Not 5% as agreed 2 months ago. Sure why not we have a secret $10k over and above what we told you we had 2 months ago in our savings account we were trying to figure out how to blow.

No wonder this country and the economy is fucked. The banks are allowed to do this.

7:24 pm - US Health Care
As I am now employed in the Health Care Industry (at a software vendor) I have had to take many training classes, get certified and general know a lot about what goes on from member to provider to nurse to claim to payment to appeals.

And I am sick and tired of the argument against "Socialist" health care. It's completely misleading. Why? Because what we have now is the same system only run by a private profit making company.

You and all your co-workers pay money in monthly (or bi-weekly) premiums to the Health Plan. Your employer pays more premium to the Health Plan.

You and your co-workers and everyone else who pays this Health Plan get discounted services to providers the Health Plan has contracted with. You will still have to make a co-payment on your HMO office visits and those co-payments are getting bigger, along with your premiums.

So how is your care paid for? The Health Plan pays the provider from that big account of all your money, your co-workers money and your employers money. If your medical expenses are more then the guy next to you at work, because he doesn't go to the doctor, then he is paying for your health care. You are all paying for everyone else to be covered.

This is "Socialist". The only difference is that currently, the Health Plan is also taking a percentage of your premiums as profit for their shareholders.

Yes, 90% of your dollar goes to actual medical care. And 7% goes to administration and staff and paperwork etc. But 3% goes to the guys who own stock.

Wouldn't you rather 93% go to medical costs?

12:17 pm - When Same-Sex Marriage Was a Christian Rite
"For the Church to ignore the evidence in its own archives would be cowardly and deceptive. The evidence convincingly shows that what the modern church claims has always been its unchanging attitude towards homosexuality is, in fact, nothing of the sort. "

7:46 am - Official
You probably have all heard but if not, I am changing jobs. I decided to look for better opportunities than my current position and BAM! got hit with an awesome offer to work once more with a smart trustworthy funny person.

So I accepted and after all the counteroffer panic don't go bullshit at the current place has settled and been rejected, I am now allowed to tell people I am leaving.

My last day is Dec 31 - with a vaca (scheduled in Aug) Dec 19-28.
I start my new gig Jan 5. It's in Bedford, Ma. So yes, I will have to drive - but it's like 13 miles. Same industry and similar position but smaller and friendlier and funner place.

So yeah. Officially awesome.

7:40 am - Bush is dangerous - still
So now that we are all focused on past caring about this stupid election, who has given a thought to what Bush is actually doing right now?

Maybe that's why the headlines read something like "Bush plans to lay out plans for 6000 troops to be brought home" or "Bush plans to reduce forces in Iraq".

And then, on the day the headline reads "Poll: Terror worries at lowest since 9/11" we also get headlines and article saying "US: 'must attack Pakistan havens" and "Bush Said to Give Orders Allowing Raids in Pakistan "

That's right. Bush is going to send 4500 more troops to Afghanistan so they can root out the evil hiding in Pakistan.

To which the Pakistanis have said "You are NOT coming into our country - we'll handle this"

Maybe Iran made too much of a good point as to why we can't justify invading them - being a democracy and all...

9:54 am - SPORE!
I have it!

I don't think I have ever waited, wanted and anticipated a video game so much before. It's been very long in coming and mine arrived Friday.

But we have things already planned and that must be done :( So the spore will get worked in. And while I'm obsessing, Ty can play the DS version. Which I also got.

:)

SPORE!!!!

7:43 am - Moving again
So yes Ty and I are moving again. Next Monday in fact the truck will come.

From Natick to Medford. 93 & 16 by Wellington Station.

Good and bad.

Love the place. Very strict rules though.
Closer to Boston. Higher car insurance.
Closer to a whole bunch of people. Much further from a bunch of other people.

I hate moving. I hate boxes and packing and loading and carrying and putting and unpacking.

So hopefully we won't have to do it again next year. Because I am done for a while. And we're not at all done with this one...

7:27 am - I am the vector monkey!
It might be viral.

I am so sick.

Again some more

Ty is sick too but according to his doctor is not the same thing as my doctor said I had. Not that my doctor really said what I had. Mostly she gave me drugs. And said it may be viral but here is antibiotics anyway. and cough syrup with codeine.

Ty's doc said he has bronchitis and gave him antibiotics and an inhaler.

So we should start to feel better in a couple days.

In the meantime, I am thinking through a wall of coughing mucus and Ty is on a 3-5 second delay. Not the best way to try to work.

NerdTests.com says I'm a Kinda Dorky Nerd Queen. What are you? Click here!

So I was going to object to the sci-fi/comic scoring as being skewed - because the only reason the last thing I read was a comic books is we just got our quarterly shipment of ...comic books ...
and I had to finish them all. Today.
oh.

But normally I read a book on the train. So on a normal day what I read last would be a book!
an Isaac Asimov... collection of sci fi stories...
yeah.

So never mind.

10:00 am - Baby geckos?
So I was noticing the Leopard Geckos were acting kinda different lately but I assumed it was the sudden return to a schedule with the new day light lamp and timer we got.

Nope. Upon opening their shedding rock to confirm they were shedding etc, I found eggs. Two eggs.

I know nothing of breeding lizards and eggs.

So now do I try to keep the eggs healthy and let them hatch (which is complicated) or just keep doing what I've been doing and see how it turns out?

What would I do with baby geckoes anyway?

They were supposed to be females!!!
